We are dedicated to providing an excellent endocrinology and metabolism fellowship training program that prepares academic endocrinologists to achieve their potential in research and clinical practice.
In research education, the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism offers rich opportunities for study and collaboration with other UC San Diego departments and schools as well as with researchers in outside institutions, from local to international. UC San Diego is one of the highest-ranked research universities in the world, and it is situated in the increasingly well-known creative cluster of major research institutes and biotechnology firms in the La Jolla area of Southern California.
In the clinical realm, UC San Diego Health System is a highly-ranked and expanding tertiary and quaternary referral center with three major hospitals and numerous outpatient clinics in diverse settings. A complex of three specialty hospitals is under construction and set to open in 2016.
